Construction Industry: Flexible composite design and manufacture

University of Stuttgart, Institute of Aircraft Design uses the adaptive mould technology from Adapa A/S, to develop composite products and automated robotic manufacture processes for the construction industry.

The development is part of a project aimed at introducing composites in the construction industry, with reduced material use through load-path optimized composite structures and automated manufacturing to reduce CO2 gas emissions

The Institute of Aircraft Design has chosen the adaptive mould from Adapa as the composite structures are to be manufactured based on 3D design files.

The design files will also be used for predicting the mechanical and material properties of the final structures using simulations, as part of documenting and optimizing the future potential.

The distinct knowledge and demand from University of Stuttgart is, that they search for materials and manufacture technologies that interact with predesigned production processes and yet still allows for flexibility in product design, while reduction in the Co2 footprint is a must.

Adapa A/S is proud to support the development of future composite structures, where flexibility in design and reduced CO2 emission are some of the key components.
